24 June 2022 – Amsterdam, Netherlands – Soliton Systems, headquartered in Japan and a global developer of IT security products, as well as a separate manufacturing division of live streaming technology, has won two Jury's Special Awards’ at "Interop Tokyo 2022". Based from Makuhari Messe, Tokyo, Interop is the leading Japanese IT conference and expo. It is highly coveted by business and technology leaders in Japan for recognizing the latest trends and innovations in IT.
This "Best of Show Award" is a judging committee comprised of people selected from leading media companies and experts in the IT industry to choose a winner from the many new products and solutions entered by the participating companies. The most outstanding "Product of the Year" is then selected and commended for each of the main judging categories.
Soliton were proud winners of two categories with representation from both their IT Security Division and their Smart-telecaster Live Streaming Division. Soliton's NetAttest EPS was awarded the "Security Category" and the newly released "Smart-telecaster Zao-X" was awarded the "Media over IP Category".
The first award was for the IT Security product NetAttest EPS, which authenticates and manages connection of devices trying to connect to a network. By using digital certificates it allows only legitimate devices, including unmanaged PC’s, Macs and Smartphones, to connect to the network. The latest version, Version 5, is equipped with a function to link with the cloud service provided by Soliton with a management environment.
The Interop Tokyo 2022 Award Judging Committee commented “Soliton Systems, a pioneer of authentication technology, has evolved from a from a security vendor that was catering for IT engineers to a security vendor that can indulge the needs of all business people. The ease of usability takes away the burden from the IT manager. As a consequence, we presented them the Best of Show Award 2022 Special Jury Award in the Security Division category.”
The second Jury’s Special award was for the newly released Smart-telecaster™ Zao-X that live streams video with extreme ultra low latency over the cellular 4G and 5G network. Utilizing Soliton’s "RASCOW" protocol, optimized for streaming over unstable mobile phone lines for high reliability, and utilizing the latest video compression technique of the H.265 / HEVC codec while supporting 4K, it achieves latencies of below 70ms which is unique for this technology. As well as video streaming, it also supports control signals, and with its ultra low latency is enabling a new generation "remote control" industries of driving machines, devices, robots, vehicles and drones, operated from a remote far away location.
The Interop Tokyo 2022 Award Judging Committee commented “In today's world where video distribution is becoming more common, as a product that streams high-definition images with very short delays, a mechanism is used to prevent disconnection with up to 6 simultaneous network connections. In recognition of features and availability, we presented them with the Best of Show Award 2022 Jury Special Award for the Media Over IP category. The deciding factor was that Soliton had prepared a live demo that also embodies open interoperability.
